CMS Reminds Providers: Bill RPM Services Correctly

In its July Medicare Learning Network (MLN) update, CMS reiterated the importance of delivering and billing Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) in full compliance. The reminder follows OIG concerns that many Medicare beneficiaries are not receiving all required elements of RPM services. Providers should ensure they meet all three CMS-defined elements:

• Setup and Patient Education
• Device Supply (16+ days of data per 30-day period, until CMS finalizes 2026 changes)
• Ongoing Monitoring & Treatment Management
  

With increased oversight, CMS is urging providers to revisit its official guidance to avoid audit risks and ensure patient outcomes.

CMS & White House Unveil Patient-Centric Health Tech Ecosystem

On July 30, 2025, the White House and CMS launched a landmark initiative to modernize healthcare by creating a seamless digital health ecosystem for consumers:

• 60+ tech and health companies (including Amazon, Apple, Google, OpenAI, UnitedHealth Group, CVS Health) pledged to collaborate on launching interoperable digital tools by Q1 2026. 
• 21 networks committed to meeting the CMS Interoperability Framework criteria to become “CMS-Aligned Networks”.

The initiative aims to empower patients with streamlined access to their health data and reduce provider burden through enhanced interoperability.
